I like some hymns, I do!

May none of God's wonderful works
keep silence, night or morning.
Bright stars, high mountains, the depths of the seas,
sources of rushing rivers:

to Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

Power, praise, honour, eternal glory

This hymn may date from as early as the third century and was inscribed on an ostracon--a fragment of pottery that the less affluent commonly used as writing material--discovered in the 1920's at Oxyrhynchus, an ancient ruin ten miles west of the Nile.
